As you all know I have allowed others to post to my blog before. And since I seem to have writers block lately, its time for this blog to get a bit of a boost. An issue hass come up in the TE World that directly affected Elina and I have offered my little corner of the world to allow her to vent. So please read and comment if you wish, but the following was forwarded to me by Elina this afternoon and it needs to be out there.
This is why online business can be considered untrusted and might look like a joke…
Usually I find it very difficult to explain people what do I do online. And mostly, it is because people’s first reaction is mostly ironic.
Why? Because it is anonymous mostly. And secondly, you can do anything you want and stay unpunished.
And, it is a perfect place for people who have some problems in the offline world. Like those who have trouble communicating with others, or are suffering from some emotional or mental or whatever diseases or traumas. See, online world opens its doors to everybody and there they can live up their unfulfilled dreams and emotions.
You have probably seen all kinds of remarks on the blogposts, online magazines articles etc, where people just take the freadom of speech as the way to say nasty things to whoever they want.
The same is with online business. It isn’t so hard to start something. So, some people take it as an option to play “da boss” and start whether spamming, or bullyuing or whatever they feel like.
I am not saying everything is so bad. It is just sometimes it looks like just a simulation game.
Recently I felt I was being bullied. And as the story went public, I decided to write my side of it.
A bit more than a year ago I moved to Holland from Estonia. I moved to a boyfriend who also happened to be a surfer.
When I moved, we looked through most of our accounts and contacted some of the owners and asked whether it would be a problem to keep our both accounts. For some it wasn’t a problem, as they already knew us. On some sites we asked to merge our accounts.
Two of these kind of sites, where our accounts were merged, were ClickingSuccess and TrafficRUS.
Mr Mulder merged them himself and said it is all fine.
When CTP Teams started, Mr Mulder started bying lots of promos for CS, so I purchased a lifetime upgrade. Looked like a good deal at a time. Only that after a month, he stopped buying anything, so my surfing there went to minimum. I only surfed sometimes for the easy badges.
Soon something happened. I see it as Mr Mulder taking all the teams game way too seriously. I am sorry to say this, but he looked a bit ridiculous with all his bragging and arrogant behaviour. Looked like a person who doesn’t know how to win and how to lose a game. Unfortunately it affected his team also. Again, I am sorry that I had to bring that up.
By the end of Season 2 things got very nasty, some of the big surfers of the top teams were suspended from his sites. To my surprise so was I. No notification, no explanation, nothing.
Well, to tell you the truth, I don’t know the exact day I was suspended, as I wasn’t surfing there that much. But one day it all was over.
I sent a mail to CS. It returned to me as unread, as obviously I was not a member anymore.
I sent mail to TRus. Instead of the answer, I got suspended from there also.
As Mr Mulder was very active on Twitter, I sent him a Tweet. I got banned from there also.
A day ago, the first sign of Mr Mulder was spotted on Tom Wacker’s blog.
I took my chance, and contacted him there. Got a reply that he told me the reason when he suspended me. As I never had any of that, I asked to tell me again, anywhere he wants, privately or publicly. Nothing.
As me and Pat are living in Holland, and so does Mr Mulder, Pat called him on the number listed in support. Mr Mulder said, he has no business with us and if we keep contacting him, he will go to police.
You know, I tried to analyze this situation as much as I could. I was really trying to find an answer to why this kind of behavior was happenign towards me. What exactly could have I done to piss off someone THAT much?
Me and Pat didn’t use 2 account per a household, so that is not about that.
I never oversurfed, so not that either.
I had some commissions earned, but it was around 17 dollars, so suspend me in order not to pay? Kind of ridiculous.
Was it because I several times refused to join his team?
Was it because I was one of the top surfers in the teams game?
Was it because I also opened a TE? Was it because I am rewarding my upgraded members with more xp? I heard he had some remarks about that, but I never saw those posts myself.
These are just random thoughts, as I really don’t know.
I. really. don’t. know. And it bugs me big time. I WANT to know, but I face the fact that I probably never will, as the person is unreachable.
I will just let the situation go and maybe he will send me a mail one day when he recovers from whatever he has.
Oh well. What I learned from this?
I will probably never buy a lifetime upgrade anymore. Most of the sites where I upgraded for life, either had a better option available afterwards and a lifetime became a waste of money, or they just downgraded big time. I am still happy with purchasing some, but most of the times, it is just ain’t worth it.
That is the reason I will probably never offer a lifetime at my TE.
I also know that I shouldn’t try to be a friend with everyone online. But I am too naive to start seeing an enemy in every single person. So, probably I will get burnt again and again.
But you know what? At least I will do that with a clear consiosness and will sleep without nightmares at night.
