July 27, 2015..
Good Monday morning everyone, hope you all had a great weekend.
As we approach a new NFL season I am once again filled with hope and expectations for both the Browns and the Buccaneers that will hopefully take them to the playoffs and hopefully beyond. Yes I am not feeling depressed or angry yet, though I am sure that will happen around week 4 or 5 once they start losing…lol However, this time of year allows me to prepare for the greatest sport on the planet, and I cant wait for the games to begin.
In other news, the end of an era occurred yesterday in Indianapolis. Jeff Gordon competed in his final race at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway, finishing 42nd in the Brickyard 400. Not exactly how he wanted it to end, obviously, but he went with a whimper instead of a roar. he was involved in an early crash and never recovered. He is a five time winner at Indy and clearly it was his favorite track. A sad ending to a wonderful and Hall of Fame career.
I want to thank those that commented on my previous post regarding gun violence in the country. I don’t usually post about political issues, but the response to the previous post may change that in the future. I have been a political junkie for over 15 years now and although there are other venues I could voice my thoughts, I figure since this blog is squarely my own, and I want to put my own personality in every post I write, I may choose to write about politics in the future. Just another subject to write about to expand the possibilities of this blog that can create discussion.
Had a great show last night on the Sports Nerds along with my co-hosts Robert Arnold and Brian “Scooter” Cullen. it was truly one of the better shows we have done in a long long time. Please check the replay on the Sports Nerds Show page if you happen to have a couple of free hours today or later in the week. I cant say enough how much fun this show has become over the last year. Even with all of my health issues, I force myself into this chair just so I can participate in great, sometimes profanity laced, discussion with a couple of great guys that never have a shortage of opinions, comments, or laughs. The show is never scripted, we don’t have a set topic to talk about, yet the show never fails to deliver.
Things I will be watching this week… NFL training camps open this week, the Baseball trade deadline is approaching, and after nearly 8 months we are still waiting for a decision from Roger Goodell on Deflate Gate regarding Tom Brady and his suspension.
One final note… on the subject of Traffic Exchanges, my co-hosts are about to launch an “industry-changing” site that will be nothing like anything that has been launched before in the Traffic Exchange industry before. owners take note: If you are launching a traffic exchange, or are thinking about launching a traffic exchange, make sure you are different, make sure you leverage tools offered by TimTech, and make sure you are prepared to work long hours and lose money the first two years you are operating. Finally for those of you that launch TE’s more often than you change your underwear, stop doing that…
Have a great Monday everyone.
Scott Wright “The Sports Nerd”
